Woodland Shrine is run by Brian and Rachel. We started in 2015 in Portland, Oregon, and now live out in the woods in rural southwestern Washington state.
We mainly work with scavenged material and copper, collecting almost all of our own bones and processing them here at the homestead. Whatever we don't collect ourselves, we're gifted or do trades with other vultures who follow the same sustainable practices we do.
We work with bones because embracing the natural world; life and death, flora, and fauna, is important to us. This art gives us an avenue to practice sustainable art forms, while bringing people closer to nature and our roots.
